It has been 3.5yrs for my last hospital trip and I didnt pack a bag till the night before.. cause I was induced and I never packed a diaper bag to take with me, yet I recall coming home with way more bags than just 1. Funny how that works! LOL

It may be diferent for each location/country/state, but here in Nebraska the main things you need for the hospital are for clothes and care products for mommy and really that is about it.

I am packing comfy clothes for me (2 outfits), extra underwear/bras & nursing pads, comfy shoes/slip ons, toiletries & hair products.

Our hospitals here give pads of all sorts, gowns, videos/magazines, etc, plus there is internet for my laptop- I can edit photos of my new daughter after a few hours of her being born!! For babies the hospitals are even better- babies get have hats, first onsies, diapers, first pacifiers, rental breast pumps and brand new clean/sanitary pump parts to take home for your own machine, bottles/formula, toiletries etc.

So for baby this time I am packing a diaper bag with mittens, going home/photo outfit and the basics.. it is really awesome having a baby here- they take care of everything for the most part!

Car seat is a bonus to have with you, but hubby could always get it if you leave it in your car till you're in a post op room.

I would also bring hair ties if you have longer hair, some magazines or a book, warm slippers, and also clothes for YOU to go home in :)

And of course have the car seats ready to go and the bases set up in your vehicles.

Been a while for me too but I'll get the ball rolling...
relaxation cd's, barley sugars for energy, camera, any documents eg. your antenatal record, comfy clothes for labour, socks, front opening nightie, nursing pads, maternity pads, underwear, toiletries, nappies, clothes for baby- singlets, jumpsuits, mittens to prevent baby scratching self, wrap/blanket, cotton wool- I found this the best for washing sticky meconium off baby's bum!!

With my last labour I spent a lot of time in the shower so I had my bathers on for most of it, so I'll be packing those again.

Anyone want to add anything else?...
