What to do?

Getting a little concerned here, things are moving sooo slowly it seems, compared to everyone else.   I had my first appoint with my GP to clarify +pregnancy around the 20th of May at which time she did do the run of blood and urine tests. I have seen her once since to see if she received my reports from my GYN but nothing else was done regarding pregnancy, she has had me refered to an OB/gyn and now I have found out I won't be seeing her until July 29, that puts me at 4mths....that seems a very long time to wait for a second check-up.  I am so concerned because as I mentioned in a previous post I am told I suffered a "partial" miscarriage June 2nd, I want to know everything is okay, I have no pregnancy symptoms anymore (vomiting, nausea, emotional and fatigue...all of which I had earlier).  I am still on bedrest until the 3mth mark but still have pains on my side, I think due to the ovarian cyst's.   My u/s isn't scheduled until Aug.31( 5mths) and I'm also worried about that because with my second child I had ovarian cyst grow extremely lg during pregnancy resulting in surgery at 4mths, I was told then that surgery needs to be done between 16 and 20wks ( with my second child I had several u/s to monitor the growth of the cysts)  I don't know what to do, I am worried and a tad frustrated.  I was thinking I would try and see if I can get in with the ob dr. this wk due to the pain in my side but I don't know if just a trip to the er would be better...if I go to the dr she prob won't be able to get a hb yet as I'm only 10wks now, but if i go to er they would likely do a u/s.
I just need to know that baby is okay.  I can't wait till the days when you can feel the kicking and you know baby is fine.  What to do, what to do?!?

Oh yes it was a big relief and such a beautiful sound, I could listen to it all day!  So I did put a call in to my ob, only to find out the reason I won't be seeing her until July 29 is because she starts her 4wk holidays tomorrow.  I suppose Dr's. need a break too...

That's good that you went in and got checked out!  I'm sure you were quite relieved to hear the hb.

Let us know if they move your appt up.

Thank you all for your support.  Yesterday morning I called by ob to see if I could get in due to the ongoing pain in my lower side, and she recommended I go to the hospital.
In emerge they put in an IV and measured my uterus and tried to get the babies hb, but couldn't (10 1/2 wks now, but I'm on the heavier side) and ended up giving me an u/s, with a huge sigh of relief I was told baby was fine and hb was 144.  The cysts have not grown since the last u/s which is great. The dr said that as the baby grows the ovaries slowly get pushed up but that being said he doesn't think the ov. cysts should be causing so much pain.  So what is causing all the pain than???  I don't know?   To me the pain is just so similar to how the pains started out with preg #2 in the beginning but unfortunately ended up alot worse.        I will be calling my ob again tomorrow to see if I can get an appoint earlier than the scheduled July 29, as I don't believe she is actually aware of how far along I am or of any of the issues of the past  or present,,,,I think when the referral got sent they just put everything in a file without looking and just scheduled an appoint.
Thank you ladies for your responses and support. Take care.

I know how you feel, i finally got my insurance worked out and due to my town not having alot of OB's that take that insurance i wont be seeing my ob for the first time till im over 12 weeks preg.

I would definitely call them and tell them what had happened before with the partial miscarriage and that you have not had a reg ob appt yet and would like one as soon as possible. Alot of dr's wont see you until 9-12 weeks but 4 months is extremely far along like i said i would call them and if they wont see u sooner find a new one and tell them your situation.
Goodluck hun keep us posted

Wow!  That sounds immensly frustrating!!!  Do you have the option of finding a new dr??  It doesn't sound like this one is taking very good care of you.

Where are you from?  I know in Canada, etc they do things differently then the states.  What Nika said above is very common procedure in the states.  u/s at 8weeks to check viability and then the bloodwork and u/s at 10-12 weeks to check for downs, etc.

You have every right to be nervous.  They should be able to find the heartbeat by now.  We saw ours at 7w and heard it at 8w and then again at 10w.  Just tonight I got a fetal heart doppler and heard it at home at 11w.

Good luck, let us know what you find out.  If all else fails, then yes, I would suggest going to the ER.  At least you'll be able to get some peace of mind.

That is WAY too long!  No OB/Midwife/Etc in their right mind would wait until someone was 4 months along for a check up!  You should have had one at about 8 weeks and then every 4 weeks after.  Not to mention there are tests that need/can be done but only between the 11th and 13th week (Ultrascan that looks for Down Syndrome and other defects).  They should be checking for a heartbeat, making sure you are taking all the supplements you are supposed to take, etc etc.  To me it sounds as if your OB is completely incompetent and you need to go find a new one.  Do not wait!

If I were you I would call my OB and demand to see her. I am about 8 weeks (not exactly sure do to no period since my daughter was born 9 months ago) and I have seen my RN about 3 times and i go see her tommorow and I am going for an U/S on friday. To what it sounds like you are also a high risk pregnancy so since I am also my RN watches me very good. The only reason I go see a RN instead of my OB is because I am more comfatable with her then my OB. If I wanted to I would be seeing my OB. Also at 10weeks they should be able to pick up a heart beat, when I go tommorow she is going to try and get a heartbeat and with my daughter we got it at 8 weeks. Call your OB and tell her you have concerns and are worried about the baby there should be no reason why she wouldn't see you it's her job.
