Am I just overly worried?!

I think I'm just overly worried but who knows. This is my first pregnancy and i'm 7 weeks according to LMP. I've been having these wierd cramp type pains right below where my hip bones are, on both sides not just one. I know that menstrual type feeling cramps are pretty normal, especially since I'm very petite at 5'3 and 115, and are just the uterus and muscles preparing and stretching as long as there is no blood. I'm trying to stay away from google as much as possible since it worries me even more. I dont want to overly stress myself out anymore then I already am. Any advice about positively anything you guys could give me? This is my first pregnancy and i'm totally at a loss at whats normal and whats not.

Thank you so much guys.
To dragon, The only problem about calling my doctor is i dont until my insurance kicks in for me on june 1st! its driving me nuts, so until I get my insurance stuff in the mail and I can make an appt, I'm totally stuck without a doc! So i have no idea what my numbers are or anything until i can get that first appt, which hopefully will be soon after i get my insurance stuff in the mail the first or so, MAYBE and hoping i will get it in the mail today. I know atleast around here most docs wont see you until 8 weeks unless you really push them so, since ill be 8 weeks next week, ill get an appt soon.

thanks alot guys you definately help put my mind at ease.

I too am 7 weeks with my first. I am also petite like you at 5'2" 115. I had horrible cramping at night at around 4-5 weeks. It was so bad I was doubled over in pain and then researching ectopic pregnancy and everything. Turns out it was my uterus stretching and also was really bad gas pains hitting me all at once. I know it is so hard not to assume the worse when these strange things are happening to our bodies, but try not to research too much and I think the post about researching baby stuff and maternity clothes is a great alternative. Another little piece of advice is that before you know it this symptom will be gone and it will be something else going on to worry you, so just sit back, relax and try to enjoy the ride! Good luck to you!

Hi there,
The above post is absolutely right.  The pains that we feel range in so many ways, from cramps to muscle pains to what feels like ovary pains or typical menstrual pains.  I have a neat site I like to always pass on, that I feel is very informative and also reassuring:  http://www.babycenter.ca/pregnancy/antenatalhealth/physicalhealth/tummycramps/
It's pretty concise in case you are worried about specific things that the pain could be from.  So, while there are things that you should be aware of, most pains are typically pregnancy related!  I totally understand how you feel, and my poor family doctor got phone call after phone call from me as well as emails too from me worrying about every little tiny thing, as it was my first pregnancy also.  This time around, I know a bit better what to expect, but having said that, this pregnancy has been much different with respect to symptoms!
Also, never be too worried about calling your doctor or nurse if you have questions, it is perfectly normal not to know the things that you could only know after going through it once or even twice!  That is what they are there for, and on top of that, it is always better to be safe than sorry!  We aren't medical experts, so sometimes it's just best to ask them or at least I found that since I totally suffered from "Pregnancy brain" it's best to write it down, whenever you feel something different (good or bad), keep a journal and bring it with you to each and every prenatal doctor appointment.  That way, you cover everything and also make sure you give yourself peace of mind that everything is well.  I found keeping a pregnancy weekly journal was beneficial for those visits to the doctor and also so that this time while I am pregnant, I could look back and remember what to expect!  (Also, in future, if you have a daughter or even daughter in law who asks you what you experienced, you will have it all down for future recall!  Trust me, my mother can't remember anything about her pregnancy with me and I know it was over 30 years ago, but when you want info like this to compare, info was definitely hard to come by!!!)
Hope this gives you some help and ideas!
In addition to anything I have mentioned, please keep in mind, that while I or others may have extensive knowledge in many areas, you should always seek professional medical advice from your own physician, as it pertains to medical conditions or concerns.
Good luck, and if you have any other questions that I can help you with, please feel free to message me directly.

Sincerely,

I totally understand what you mean. This is my first pregnancy also, after my husband and I tried to conceive for 3 years. I have been panicing about every thing I've felt, and read every "devastating horror story" there is. My dr. tells me don't worry, my numbers are good, and everything is progressing as it should. I advise instead of googling what could go wrong... look up baby furniture, maternity wear, all the FUN stuff with baby and pregnancy :0). Good luck and have a HAPPY HEALTHY nine months! Ask me anything!

Oh and I have the twinge/crampy feelings some, I'm told its normal
