Back Pain?

I am 9w3d and am experiencing back pain in the small of my back. I had similar pain early on, but it had mostly gone away in the last couple weeks. I woke up this morning and have had this pain on and off all day. It feels like the backache you get during PMS and AF. I am totally stressing out about this as I had a miscarriage in September and everything freaks me out. I talked to the nurse at my doctor's office and she told me it could be muscular as I have no cramps or bleeding. She told me to take Tylenol and ice it for tonight and if it isn't better in the morning, to call them. I was just wondering if anyone else had anything like this? It doesn't feel like a pulled muscle and I still have all the other symptoms (sore bbs, some nausea, etc.) Thanks!

yay....glad to hear your heard the hb and everything is ok....my back pain lasted about 2 weeks and i think it was because my uterus was ascending towards my belly and putting pressure on muscles in my back....im no doctor but the pain did go away and i have been fine since

my next u/s is in 13 days....i cant wait to see my babies again

OK, so it seems I was freaking out over nothing. My doctor sent me for an ultrasound and everything looks great. We saw a strong hb (171) and even saw little movements! I am so relieved. Also, the back pain has subsided pretty much. I guess I will worry for a while yet :)

Well, I did the Tylenol and ice last night and it really didn't work. I slept with a pillow between my legs last night and that seemed to help. I woke up with very little pain, but it has since come back. I called the doctor and they seem to think I strained my back or something. I know I shouldn't worry so much but I can't seem to help it. They are supposed to call back in a bit with more instructions, so hopefully, I can get some reassurance.

I also have had back pain during this pregnancy, but last pregnancy it was similar to what you described and at times very piercing pain. I went to a chiropactor who specialised in pregnancy and it did really help me alot (that was in my case). In addition, I have had constant cramping which is scary as some days it's more intense than others. It's hard not to worry when you have such symptoms.

Alot of women suffer from back pain during pregnancy. Have you tried to do some pelvic tilts? Another thing you could do is to wear flat heeled shoes, and get enough rest. Lower back exercises like pelvic tilts help strengthen the back and reduce back pain.

Hope it gets better :-)

i figured i would have a lot more back pain because i have 2 babies growing inside my belly....i think the pain you feel is your uterus ascending towards your belly
