COngrats and what a beautiful name you have there for your daughter :-) So glad she's not in NICU and that she's doing well, well done. It is great to do it the natural way, I did it with my daughter and that was an induction (due to PUPPP / suspected ICP), makes you feel proud and stronger!
Try to give her the breast again and again and again. Don't give up. They usually stay sleep the day they are born as it is exhausting for our little ones. Just try, my daughter wasn't born so early but kept on crying at the breast and eventually after two days got the point. I would recommend that you try and latch her on with the lactation nurse in your presence so she can tell you if you're doing it right. Hopefully everything will be fine.
Once again, well done and all the best, post some pics up!
So you were definately diagnosed with ICP? How were your liver enzyme levels? Elevated or normal? Mine were normal but they told me that it may remain normal until a few weeks following commencement of itching or perhaps may not be elevated at all.
Don't give up if bf is what you really want to do! I don't have much advice to offer. Seems like your lactation consultant wasn't very helpful. Maybe they have another?
my DD didn't have an apetite til day3, it worried me since she wouldn't nurse but after she decided she was hungrey things went fine. good luck
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!
