I had a ttts scare and have been on a high protein diet to help my babies grow.  You might ask your dr if increasing your protein would help.

I have to get nst done 2x a week. This is due to me having mild preeclampsia. They also told me my baby girl would stop growing early when I was 17 w. Then at my 26w u/s she weighed 2lbs. 4w later when I went back for my 30w growth u/s she weighed 4lbs. So I think it just depends  on the baby. They also gain half a.lb in the last 10w before birth.

I was told by my OB that babies gain the most weight during the last ten weeks of pregnancy, they can double in weight. Have you asked to get another ultrasound done?
