Natural unmedicated child birth

Anyone planning on going all natural and unmedicated for their January birth? Also, has anyone done this in the past and what was your experience?

Hi... @ MinkY001125 yeah I watched that documentary too and am so opposed to what they teach all women about birth in America. Having a natural birth will be a very rewarding experience. Good luck.

I had two children natural and loved it. Stay in tube with what your body is telling you and you will be fine. I walked up until i was 9 centimeters and that helped a lot. As we we are a lot more stronger than we think.

I had my daughter 8 years ago natural.  I hadn't really thought about it then, but by the time they could have given the epidural they said I was too far along (about 5 cm).  They did give me a pain reliever but it made me so dizzy I didn't get the second shot of it.  I plan on doing this one no meds or epidural - that needle scares the crap outta me!  First labor was 15 hours, 11 of it was at home, so I am hoping this one is shorter!

Im planning a water birth with perhaps a bit of gas and air :) the thought of having an epidural scares me to the point of ive had nightmares that ive got one and never been able walk again! Rare but scarey all the same!

Absolutely going to try and go all natural again! My son is 4 now and i had him in 2 hrs all natural! No IVs no pain meds, nothing!  Im praying that this time is like my first pregnancy but i know nothing is promised, but i will try my hardest to achieve my goal! Good for all u mommies attempting all natural birth experiences above all else!(:

With my first I didn't take no meds I went all natural and was only given travolta for nausea. For be my labor was 9 hrs and the first 6 or 7 hours weren't as bad the contractions were getting more intense but I refused any medication because I wanted to be natural towards the last couple hours it got Noreen n more intense and I felt like I couldn't sit still but the main thing to do is to keep breathing steadily n stay calm that really does help, for me anyways. With my second I hope to do the same and I also hope for a shorter labor n delivery. Cuz that is the most intense yet gratifying thing any woman has probly go through it feels like u need to go #2 but its not coming out lol sorry for tmi. But in the end its always worth it natural or not.

lol I've never heard anyone describing epidural like that. When I got my dose I didn't feel any tingling, I just didn't feel pain and that's it. Maybe she got it in a wrong place or something?

My cousin has explained the feeling of an epidural to me. She said if you can imagine the feeling you get when your foot falls asleep and then it tingles is how it feels from your waist down. I personally hate when any part of me falls asleep and don't think it sounds worth it to have a needle placed in a space in your spine only about 1/2 mm wide or less. I'd rather endure my baby girl come out than have to deal with possible complications because it hurt too bad. Well duh! Its childbirth! What did we expect?! Lol I may just get a light pain reducer to use more as a placebo and trick myself :)

Yes i am. Unless there is a medical emergency, that is my plan. I want no drugs and no one to induce me (unless required). I watched pregnant in america amd now i am even more convinced that i want to deliver drug free.

I was all set on doing all natural my first time...but after being in labor for 3 days I was begging for some pain relief.

Going all natural (or at least that's the goal) and using hypnobirth. I'm a ftm so no previous experience, but I'm hoping/practicing/planning for the best!

Yes, planning a natural unmedicated birth as well! :) I was trying also with my son, but my labor wasn't progressing so I had to get pitocin through an IV, so if I have to, that's the most I'll do. I don't plan on any pain medicine. My previous pregnancy, I got to 8cm's with no pain medicine and they lost his heartbeat, so I had an emergency c-section, I'll be trying naturally this time, hopefully it works! :)
