If you want pack a couple of days worth of clothing that's comfortable for you or a robe so you're not having to wear hospital clothing, slippers are also good, or socks so you're not walking around the cold floor, underwear that you don't mind ruining, and pretty loose, pads that are long and thick that will be comfortable for you (hospital ones SUCK), if you plan on nursing, nursing bras/tank top, nursing pillow, breast pads, cream, charger, makeup/hair stuff (you'll be getting pictures taken left and right..trust me I regret this not having them last time hahah), travel pack shampoo, conditioner, deoderant, tooth paste, tooth brush, soap, hair tyes (hospitals carry these sometimes, but my last actually only left body wash so I had to use it in my hair for 3 days..yuck!) fiber snacks (usually you have to have your first BM in the hospital and it friggen hurts pushing, this makes it easier), medicine if you take any, I'd continue prenatals so you don't get drained right after, especially breast feeding, your own pillow if you're particular, and camera and extra batteries. That's my list so far.. probably will end up adding to it!
(just copied and pasted it from a previous post I made, haha.. this is my list)
I have pjs with button front and comfy pants and top to come home in, 2 nursing bras (one for tub since I plan on water birth), ipod with speakers, bathroom stuff in trial size, comfy slipper socks, and old underwear. I plan on bringing the body pillow too. For baby one outfit, snowsuit, and blanket. Bring carseat! Also have cord to charge phone, disposable camera, and real camera. For my first I had nothing so this time I planned ahead a bit better! She was early though so I just wasn't ready.
I packed like going on vacation. Clothes personal items like toothbrush, shampoo deo pads and I took clothes and wipes blanket carseat for baby.
Take comfy clothing for yourself something you wore when you were about 4-5 months pregnant to wear home. Toothbrush, any care items you will need. For the baby take an outfit for pic or to bring him/her home and in a blanket. You dont have to bring diapers or things like that, they have them there. I over packed when my daughter was born. I know you feel like you want to take EVERYTHING but take what you will need.
