Yea that would be scary!..
This is my first and lots of people say your first labor is usually the longest so I'm expecting hours of labor but hoping for it to be fast!

Does it take a long time for contractions to start?

I have been induced twice, and every time they will set a date and time to when you will go in and everything when you get to the hospital you will fill out paper work then they will get you into a room and you will get in your gown then they will draw blood and start an iv of Pitocin which is the meds they use to induce you and not long after that if your water doesn't break on its own they will break your water for you then you will start having contractions and then push when the baby is ready to come out...
