I was due jan 22. Last night I went in with contractions 4 min apart at 1130pm. They made me walk for an hour since I was only 2cm dialated. That was miserable (disclaimer I am weak can't tolerate any pain at all and dramatic)
I screamed and cried during every single contraction. Finally they checked me again at 1:00am (now jan 23) and I was 4cm. They wheeled me to labor and delivery and gave me an epidural. I had a contraction during the process of administering the epidural and thought I was dying. (but I was sure I was dying all night/morning anyways)
So then I played the waiting game and laid uncomfortably until 9am when they said I might need an emergency c section- babies heart rate kept dropping and I wasn't going past 9.5 cm. and he wasn't coming down. I had a melt down.
They gave me more epidural and I took a nap. They woke me up at 11 and said I was over dialated I think 11-12cm and baby moved way down and I was ready to push. (Well they were ready for me to push I was terrified the whole time to do anything).
I started pushing at 1130am and was confused because I couldn't feel anything at all (not that I wanted to) but the kind nurse who had to put up with my whiny nonsense assured me that yes I was pushing and I was doing it right.
He was born at 12:05pm. They said that was fast for a first time mom. It felt like forever to me but for all the screaming and pain I endured as soon as he was out I didn't care- and felt a ton better.
He had the cord around his neck so he was purple when he came out but he's perfect now! Aside from the bad after birth cramps and all the bleeding post birth I will be fine I'm sure. God I love this little man. But I must say I will do anything to avoid ever being pregnant again there is not one single thing I miss about being pregnant or labor.
All in all the contractions were the worst as with pushing I just felt like my face was going to pop blood vessels and that was it.

Congratulations on the birth of you baby boy.. hope you enjoy every moment and be patient and with breastfeeding I gave up with my first after a day and I soo wish I had given it time.. 2 days left till my due date for my second lady I hope I go soon I'm ready to feel normal again now.
And thank you! He is being difficult about breast feeding but we love eachother (I think he likes me anyhow lol)
I had done a lot of walking up and down the stairs on my due date which is the night I went in. I was getting all the last minute things arranged in babies room and doing laundry for him :)
