had my baby boy on my due date

Due to high blood pressure and low amniotic fluid, my docs sent me to labor & delivery to get induced on my due date (Jan 24). The first time I was given pitocin at around 12pm I was contracting but had no pain, was barely dialated, and my baby wasn't tolerating very well with the medicine. So I was taken off the medication at 3 and given fluids until 4, where the nurses broke my water and gave me the medicine when the baby's heart rate was back to normal. I started to feel contractions by 5, and at 8 I was in tears because the pain was so surreal. The nurses kept probing me to get an epidural since I was only 5 cm, but I kept refusing until I felt like I needed to push. Turns out I went from 5 to 9 cm within an hour, so I didn't have to get an epidural, and at 9:41pm, my son was born, 7 pounds 6 ounces, and I only pushed for about 15 mins. I never been through so much pain in my entire life, but holding my baby in my arms was so worth it. Congrats to all the moms who completed this journey, and I wish everyone else the best of luck with your labor and birth, just remember the gift of having a child is worth going thru the tough journey!
