6 w 3 days but measuring 5w3d

I had my first ultrasound today and the resident (not on/gyn) informed me that there was no fetal pole, nothing but a small yolk sac.

He proceeded to dismiss the fact that I didn't get a positive test until days after my missed period, or the fact that I have pregnancy symptoms and no bleeding or cramping.

He told me not to worry, I'd begin bleeding soon and that the pregnancy is a failed one.

Only when I argued with him that babies grow differently did he order up blood work.

Anyone else have nothing but a yolk sac at 6weeks estimation?

I would wait for the blood work to come back. I have read that if you have irregular cycles or mistakenly gave them the wrong day of your last menstrual it can alter the conception date, so hopefully that is the case. Wishing you well:)

That happened with my first pregnancy. I was supposed to be 7 weeks 3 days and the ob/gyn told me that I would have a miscarriage soon after the appointment. It happened not even 24 hours later on Valentines Day :( I believe it is very common for first time pregnancies.
