Early Labor

Hello Ladies,
Congratulations on the birth of your babies. FTM I'm due in 10 days I've been cramping for a week now last Tuesday OB checked me @37 weeks and she said nothing was happening but didn't mean anything. I started cramping a little after I left her office on Wednesday the pain was so bad I thought I was was gonna passed out so on Thursday I got checked in at the hospital I was at 1cm dilated and 70% effaced and was sent home. On Friday I went to see my doctor again she checked my cervix was at 2cm and still 70% effaced she told the baby will be here on the weekends now it's Monday and no baby I'm still cramping I'm 38 weeks 4 days the pain seems more frequent now but not intense enough to go to the hospital. I haven't lost my mucus plug and haven't had my water broke. I've been walking and bouncing on the birthing ball so my question is do cervical checks starts contractions and is there anything else I should do to proceed labor?

Thank you mrsp I will I'm still at a 2cm hopefully things will pick up soon. The last two are the most uncomfortable :(

Hey nola, so sorry your so uncomfortable. I would say go to er and be seen there if you have any issue at all they will keep and induce you, otherwise its a waiting game. Keep us posted

Turns out it's bladder infection causing all the cramping my OB prescribed me antibiotics the cramps are very painful anyone else experienced a bladder infection this far along?

Good luck. I am due tomorrow. At 39 weeks I was 4cm and 70% effaced. At 37 weeks I was 2 cm and 70%. I lost my mucus plug a couple days ago. With all that my baby still hasn't come. Babies come when they want. I have walked, had sex, eaten pineapple, drank tea and probably other stuff but nothing. Stay positive. Your baby Juilliard be here soon!

No not yet I'm super sore down there and it almost look swollen my husband is scared to have sex :(

It can start labor have you tried sex or anything ?

I'm in the same boat. Last time I was checked in wasn't dilated at all. I have an appt tomorrow morning.  Hoping for good news. I'm 38 wks 3 days.

The wait is killing me I guess I just have to suck it up and wait till baby is ready. Thanks I'll try doing more walking. My nipples are sore and very sensitive

I don't think anything will help unless baby is ready. A cervical check helped me go into labor with my first along with walking a lot. Sex, walking, nipple stimulation. There's a pressure point oncthd outside of your ankle that's supposed to induce labor. Never tried it though.
