Newborn photography has anyone booked theirs yet?

I was wondering if any mommies had booked a photography session? How much is it going to run you and what options did you choose?

The hospital does have a photographer. I have been on Pinterest finding all kinds of ideas!! I forgot my sister took four years of photography and has all the equipment. I told her to get it out and start practicing! This is important to me. I looked up the best printing site and mixpix I think was the best!

Many hospitals have both photographers that will come to your room in the day or two after you give birth and offer to do newborn photography. Have you looked into if your hospital offers that? I did it with my first and it was only a few hundred and fairly decent. This time I've hired a birth photographer who will be at my house for early labor, come to the hospital, and do family photos in the hours after birth.

Wow! I've never spent that much on pictures! We go to a place that gives us copywrite release and all images for $88.

You're right it is worth it. I just don't have the budget for it.  :(

I am paying $1600 for a package deal: Maternity, birth/first look, and newborn pbotos. I get a copy of the digital files, and a printed book. It seems like a lot, but wedding and birth photography I feel are really important if you can spend the money on it. It makes a difference having good pictures, to me at least :)

I am gonna sound really ignorant right now but what does what you said mean: digital files with full printing rights? Do you mean I get it it on a usb and I can print as many as I want. Those sessions are so expensive, they were are $700. I was thinking around $400 but that doesn't seem to be working out.

I used to work for a company that did new born photography.  I personally think digital files with full printing rights is always the best option.  (Also never go to walgreens for prints lol they are the worst!)
