Pregnancy announcement ideas?

Hi there!

My husband and I are pregnant with our first child. :-D  I'm about 8 weeks along now and we're planning on telling our parents closer to 12 weeks, which falls around the time of my husband's and mother-in-law's birthday. We usually have a party so we're thinking that's when we would announce it to them - just not sure how to do it! I should also note the baby is due on my father-in-law's birthday, which is also my birthday week (LOL). I'm not crazy over announcing our pregnancy by giving my mother-in-law a gift, but I'm open to ideas. We're planning on telling my dad earlier that same day, but again, don't have anything planned at the moment! So excited to tell them and share this amazing news- just want it to be perfect. Baby is first grandchild for both sets of parents!

Thanks so much in advance!

Aww! I didn't see that last post until today. Sounds like it was a great moment!

We told our families and we caught everything on camera. It was great. We told our parents on Father's Day. For my dad, I wrote a mushy card about how great my dad was growing up and how great he is to my husband and that we hope he can do the same for our child. He didn't catch on until it said congrats grandpa! Then he lost it. So excited. For my husband's dad we put a baby ny giants onesie in his gift bag. Yet another great reaction!

My husband and I have been dating since we were 16 so we have this memory scrap book I put together years ago and I added a page in the back that said Baby due January 2016 with a picture of the pregnancy test (i told them the same week I found out). They came over and went straight over to the book to look at all of our old pictures. When they got to the end their reactions were priceless. Because my husband and I recently married, we asked my brother on video how it felt to have a brother-in-law and then later in the video we asked how it felt to be an uncle. It went really well all around. I highly suggest trying to catch reactions on video!

Aww! I love both of these ideas. Not sure which one I'll use just yet. Hoping to catch everything on video. Congratulations to you both, too, and thank you, again!

Give her a grandmother birthday card from the baby. Simple, cute, and her reaction will be wonderful!  I did this to my Mom for mothers day and she loved it. She didn't even want to finish reading the card she was so excited. First time for my parents :-)
