I am due January 10th an we aren't finding out the gender. I'm starting to get nervous.  What are people's thoughts on buying things. I also am wondering have a baby shower or a meet the baby after he or she is born.

I didn't find out with my first she was due Jan 13. We just got the basics gender neutral carseat, bedroom set, blankets, and a few of each kind of clothes. After baby came we had a huge baby shower and got everything else including more of the right color clothes. We still got almost everything gender neutral swing, bouncer, towels ect. That way we don't have to buy more stuff this time around. Pregnant for the 3rd time with my first boy.

You can have both a baby shower and a meet the baby! You should definitely have a baby shower so you can get most of the necessities before the baby gets here. I'm having a boy, but most of his stuff is gender neutral (cream/off white, green, brown, yellow). Super exciting!!

Congrats....we are due the same day!!! I say buy what you can gender neutral and also have a shower and register for all gender neutral stuff. Once ppl find out what you have they will bring you things for the gender

I was trying to leave the gender a surprise (someone accidentally told me) and had bought a lot of gender neutral stuff. There are a lot of great grey/yellow/green things.
It would be good to have a baby shower beforehand so that you have all of the necessities, but I love the idea of a Sip and See. Once the baby is born and people know the gender, they'll run out and buy you gender-focused stuff either way.
