I've been having tightening in my abdomen area for the past few weeks. It is totally random and there is no pattern to it. I asked my doctor and he said its braxton hicks. There's no pain along with it, just tightening.

Braxton Hicks contractions feel like your belly tightening. Almost like you're doing a sit up, but it's not actually you abs tightening. It's your uterus. They can get achy to painful depending on how many you have. For me, after I've had them for over an hour I start feeling sore, even the next day. Like I worked out too hard. Ligament pain is sharp and sudden, like if you sneeze or twist to quickly. Ligament pain is also achy if it's stretching. That's the difference ladies.

I've felt that too but I don't think its braxton hicks... Maybe stretching.

Following... I'm curious too...

Today I was laying down on my side for a few minutes and I think I felt kind of a squeezing feeling in the lower part of my belly for a just few seconds. I could have just imagined it though, so idk!

I've been wondering the same thing. How to tell the difference between the ligament pain and Braxton hicks. This is my first rodeo so it's all pretty new to me

All the time. I'm 28 weeks and had to have my cervix checked because I was having so many. Was told that everything looked great and to continue to drink lots of water because braxton hicks are one of many signs of dehydration.
