Gender Blood testing is never wrong. Is the most accurate gender test you can take. So If they told you you're having a girl, then that's what it is, Doctors make mistakes often with Ultrasounds those should not be trusted 100%.
So I had my ultrasound yesterday and it is a boy!! So the test was right. The genetic counselor explained to me that test looks for Y chromosome in the mothers blood. Since the baby's DNA is mixed in mothersblood during pregnancy, it will detect the baby's sex because the mother only carries 2 x's since she is female. If there is only x's present baby is a female and if it detects a y it's because the baby is a male. Hope I explained that right lol
I had it done a few weeks ago and it says a boy, we thought for sure it was a girl. I go in for my 20 wk ultrasound on Tuesday the 16th and will let you know if it was right :)
I'm pretty sure the blood test is like 99% -100% accurate because they pull the X or Y chromosome to determine the gender.
For my mom's whole pregnancy they told her I was a boy and was 100% sure and I came out a girl. But that was also 20 years ago but mistakes always happen but not quite as often
