ER visit yesterday
Hey ladies. I had to go to the ER yesterday because I was having really painful sharp pains by my left ovary. I got there and they did blood work and an ultrasound. Based on my LMP yesterday i was 6 weeks but the US put me at 5 weeks 4 days. All my blood work looked good. My HCG was 14,349. Last sat it was 1,876 so thats good. The only thing is that the doc said that my HCG was too high for how far along I am and also at 14,000 you should see a heartbeat. He said to go back to the ER monday just for blood work to see if my levels are going up or not. Should I ask them for another ultrasound or will it probably just be the same as the one yesterday? Is it true that the heartbeat starts at 14,000?
Joy-It was an OB doc that they called in to come see me. I am going to try to find one today to go to.
Most women do not see a heartbeat until 7 weeks or more, so don't worry about that. Also, ER doctors are AWFUL when it comes to pregnant women. Definitely call your OBGYN tomorrow and see what they have to say!

Oh then you shouldn't be worried at all! Its still early for the heartbeat!!! Congrats for seeing the bean!!!
Then you can find either temp doctor who covered by your insurance or go to ER...Either way, you should wait till 7.5 weeks to see the heartbeat!

We saw the sac and the bean. Also I live in LA and I am here in FLorida visiting and MAYBE moving back here so i dont have a doc here yet because we dont know if we are staying (It all depends on DFs job)

All I know is that 1. I would go to my doc instead of ER (agree with Suzie)
2. I know that at 6 weeks you should be able to see the sac and a little bean, not yet so much of a heartbeat..
And 3. you suppose to see the bean (fetus) when your levels higher then 2,000...
so don't stress yet, you and I both go for u/s on Monday, so GOOD LUCK TO BOTH OF US!

Can you make an appt. to see your dr. on monday instead of the er? Seems they would have a better understanding of your pregnancy. Maybe they want you to go to the er so the blood results are more immediate than having a lab that may take 24 hours. I wouldn't stress yet. They would like to see a heartbeat between 7 - 8 weeks and as early as 6 weeks.
I honestly don't know...but I hope everything will be ok, keep us posted sweetie!
