Can you dialate early, like now?

I am 33 weeks, I go for my first internal on tues the 26th, I feel pressure when I pee, like the baby is right there, lol. Is this normal? Could I be dialiating already?

Isabella- I have had 2 u/s's one in march where it started to change and last week it's now at almost 2 1/2 but after today I had an internal and part of my cervix is open I guess there are 2 parts and one is open so dilation for me is right around the corner......It happens sooner for women who have had more than one birth. Our muscles are more relaxed. I wouldn't suggest doing it yourself. I have been having intense contractions but they are not at a point to go to the hosp. With all the pressure I know my body is changing. It's been the same all the time for me. I guess if you are having severe pelvic pressure like a hot bowling ball is stuck then something is going on. Also contractions and cramping. My low abdomen is hot to the touch by all the changes. It hurts really bad. You will know! Goodluck!

Lisa- Yes I'm big thanks for pointing that out...I'm kidding. Yes I have a ton of pain but it does not last for a long period of time it comes and goes so for me it's my body just starting to labor slowly. How are you feeling?

AP: How do you know that your cervix is changing? Can you feel it? What should I be looking for ?

Thanks so much. I feel some pressure, but that is normal for me. I have my internal on tuesday, so I am assuming i will know much more then. We'll see I guess. I hate internals. I remember hating this part with my first. You are so big and already have pressure down there, lol.

Yes you sure can especially if you have had previous deliveries. I started at 7 mos laboring with my last baby and by the time I was ready to deliver her I was 100 % effaced and 4 centimeters dilated. With my oldest I was 100 % effaced and 1 centimeter dilated on my due date and my middle one I began dilating in the end of my 7th month I was again 100 % effaced and 1 centimeter dilated. I was told as long as my water hadn't broken that was fine but of course I went in for a bio u/s due to her lack of movement in the nst and sure enough my amniotic fluid was extremely low and needed to have a emerg induction. If you think you are go get checked out. I think my cervix is changing again as of last week it was lower than a few wks ago if my contractions continue I'm going to go get checked out. You may also have a uti have you been getting your urine checked at every app. I have one now and I have alot of pain from that too! I hope you feel better soon.
