Feeding Schedule (again)!

Jack is 8 months (wow! this is going fast!) and he has 3-4 (8oz) bottles a day, some finger snacks (gerber stuff) and 1-2 jars of food.
Wondering if he should be eating more foods? What is your baby's eating sched???
Thanks ladies!
xo, Heather

We're leaving on the 22nd March. It's a 10-11 hour flight to Bangkok and thankfully I booked that flight at 615 pm then Medina can sleep (hopefully) 2 hours after take off. At Bangkok, we stay in an airport hotel for 6 hours so that Medina can crawl around and we can all take a break, then another 10 hours to Sydney. I'm scared of flying with a baby but thankfully hubby is there as well.

I am pretty sure that with Medina being active and all she is a little bundle of energy, I don't think she has anemia either, she migth just be teething. Remember with James there days he woulld not eat at all (well no teeth either) but I trulyt think that when their gums are hurting their appetite is gone.
Glad to hear the doc is seeing her again, pretty sure she will be o.k. When are you guys leaving?

I was at the paediatrician today and she told me not to worry. That it's normal with extremely active babies (which is a sign she's not anemic or she would be lethargic) and of course when teething many babies do not like to eat with a spoon. The second one is coming through soon so she said it should be better after that. But she hasn't gained any weight in the last month so I just have to come back in a few weeks before I go back to Sydney.

you are right, that is what my pediatrician said, breastmilk or formula.

Medina isn't eating much these days. I'm almost tearing my hair out as it's been like this for over 3 weeks. We have an appointment with our paediatrician on Wednesday as she hasn't gained weight, I think she's lost some + she is always on the go. I mean really go go go!!!

around 430-530 am: breast milk in half-sleepy mood then back to sleep.
7-8 am: awake
8:30-9:00am: 2 Tbs rice cereal with fruit (started a month ago)
Breast feed before nap 1030 am (+/- 30 min): 1-1.5 hours
1230-1pm: Lunch (usually chicken, veggies), how much she eats varies but it was 5 - 6 oz before her new non-eating phase
Breast feed before nap 3:30pm (+/- 30 min): 1-1.5 hours
7-7.30pm: Dinner, lately veggies because she's eating badly but usually fruit
Breast feed before sleeping around 8-9pm

She breast feeds on demand but always before napping or sleeping. She usually wakes up once a night for a feed, I don't mind because she's not eating well but I think it's due to teething as one erupted last week and the other is almost there. I'm just worried about anaemia and will ask to get her iron levels tested. I've lost weight and been eating not so well, so I may be anaemic as well.

eternidad: My paediatrician says first 9 months should focus more on milk. I've heard of women breastfeeding exclusively for 12 months with happy chunky babies!

I just came back from my pediatrician office and she wanted me to drop oneof James feeding so he can increase his formula intake at least up to 24 oz in 24 hours, he is weigthing 21 pounds as today, the poor little guy has otitis media (ear infection) so he was put in antibiotics drops.
She say that at  this stage the american association of peds recommend that your LO's greater intake should be of breastmillk or formula until they are at least 9-10 m old, she say that they worry about infants developing anemia bc poor iron intake on their meals.
I explained that we do homemade food and I pick things high in iron like millet, brwon rice, etc, but she still wanted us to do our best to increase his formula intake.
I guess each pediatrician says different things.

Cash is 8 months old today!  Wow - where has time gone!?!
We just increased his solids and it is going great!
7:00 - 8 oz bottle
8:00 - 3 tablespoons of rice or oatmeal cereal
Between 9 and 11 he naps
11:30 he has about 4oz of fruit and 4oz of veggies (I make my own food so its a guess)
Bwtween 1:30 and 3:00 he naps
3:00 8 oz bottle
6:00 about 4oz of veggies and 4oz of meat and rice or meat and noodles
Between 7 and 8 he has another 8oz bottle and then to bed
He doesn't feed during the night anymore - although he doesn't sleep much either! LOL! Unless he's in bed with mama and daddy!

He also will have a snack mixed in there if he seems hungry at anytime between feedings and water in his sippy cup.

Iliana eats cereal for breakfast plus 4 oz. of formula.  She will usually have another 4 oz. of formula before nap 9:30-10 depending on what time she wakes in the morning.  Lunch is fruit and veggies plus 4-5 oz of formula.  She will usually drink another 5 oz again at around 3pm then dinner between 5 and 6 (fruit and veggies) and then 6 oz bottle before bed 7:30.

I think James formula drinking varies depending on the day, he loves solids. We do:
cereal for breakfast,
then 6-8 oz formula around 9-10 before nap
lunch around 12-1 with vegetables like  sweet peas, sweet potatoes, squash, zuchini, brown rice, millet,I make my own food so I think aprox he is taking between 6-8 oz of food but no meat yet we are waiting until he is around 9 months.
2-3 pm 6-8 oz formula before afternoon naps
dinner 5-6 pm, veggies again or cereal.
6-7pm, 6 oz before bedtime.

Also at night he is now  waking up a lot to eat, like 2-3 times and he takes from 4-6 oz at a time on and off.

Kaylee is almost nine months old, she will be in 15 days.

For breakfast she has her cereal

then possibly a snack, like mum mums and the like
she'll have a bottle of vegetables and fruit for lunch

and vegetable and meat for supper,

she also drinks about 3-4 bottles of 8oz, she loves her food.
