For those of us still preggers!

Is anyone else having trouble walking. Literally it feels like my pelvic bone is broken I can barely walk today! I don't remember feeling this pain before! OUCH! I can't figure out if it's because the baby descended more or what but it is awful! We are almost there girls I wonder who will be next to deliver!

I wish I slept on a hammock, I mean it would keep me semi reclined and I don't need to sleep on my side which is when I think the pelvic pain gets worse...Oh yeah i'm complaining and I sleep on a tempurpedic bed...I couldn't imagine sleeping on any other surface, I'd probably need to get some sort of pain medication every night.

I'm so used to being out of breath I can deal with that it's bad that I can't even lift my legs to get dressed or do anything I can't even climb the stairs etc! I can't even get in and out of the shower with out my dh helping me! It's really bad. So you are lucky!

Like must all of you have to lift my legs with my hands it is so upsetting and depressing. Can't wait to go into labor. I am 38 weeks now, still waitiing for that due date July 12.

I've had that pain since I was 17 weeks! and its my first pregnancy!  Roke is absolutely right, its called Pubis Symphisis Diastasis or better known as SPD.  There's nothing you can do about it.  I've gone to the chiropractor and NOTHING, she actually scared the **** out of me by trying to pop my hip back in place and I just hope that the baby was ok from it.
Now my pain is getting worse and the only thing that has helped me these past 4-5 months is stretching.  I sit up spread eagle (everytime I have to get up and pee) and I push my torso to the front to stretch out my inner thighs and hips...then when I stand up it doesn't hurt as much. I think in yoga its called the butterly pose or something like that.

I have the same thing... except it started at week 28 for me and I am now 35w4d...  I talked to my doctor and it is a result of the pubic symphysis bone - it is starting to spread making a bit more room for the baby.  In all reality there is not too much you can do about it.  My hips crack/pop at night when I roll over - it is horrible... it also takes me like 30 seconds to roll over in bed.

It is actually referred to as SPD...  I think they said about 1 in 4 pregnancies will experience this.

Grose- OUCH.....The same side for my ribs too! It hurts so bad today I can't even go up the stairs. It's out of control. I can't take much more of the pain. Tylenol does nothing! Honestly!

Sasha- I have tried everything nothing works. I hope you find some relief!

I keep telling myself it's almost over! Yay!

Ladies,
Doc told me that there is nothing he can do.  Suggested I take Tylenol if the pain is too bad.  Says that with each pregnancy (after the first), many women will experience more severe aches and pains as everything is "looser".  I definitely didn't have this pain with my first.

He suggested that I lay down flat on the floor (not a bed or couch) and have hubby push down on my hips.  Says to hold that position for about 5 seconds and release.  Repeat.  He too suggested that hubby put pressure on the pelvic bone.  This may assist the hips to start going back into place if done a couple of times a day.  I have hubby do it at night right before bed or if I am in ALOT of pain during the day then once during the day too.  Seems to help for a little while.
Oh, my doc is south african and he said the black south african women would have someone wrap a towel around the hips and tie the towel putting pressure around the hips.  He says the women swear by this method.  Says it may not fix the problem completely but it will slowly assist the hips back into place allowing for the last few weeks to be more comfortable.  Says to be patient as it may take a few times before feeling a difference.

You can try these methods and see if they help.  No guarantee they will.

LAtrice- I do the same thing, I lift my legs with my hands to move them, there is no other way I could do it. We were at a concert in the park the other day and I was sitting on the grass, Noah kept getting up and running and I swear it took me a good 30 seconds to get my butt off the ground, thank God I had people there helping me with him.

AP- lol I asked DF to carry me all the time.....ahhh if only he could. As if the pain in my pelvis isn't bad enough I have this horrible pain in my ribs, I think the baby got his foot lodged in there or something. I can literally see the outline of where he is and both his legs are on the right side of my rib cage, it's pretty awesome, that keeps me going, that and being able to see his little feet crossing over my tummy.

Im only 28 weeks and waddle waddle waddle, there are times that im limping bcuz my pelvic bone on the left side hurts like crazy. If im sitting down, i have to use my hands to help left my foot/leg on the couch bcuz it hurts to bad to let the leg do it, itself.  Im not sure if this is from all the stress from working being im standing on my feet the majority of my shift, i do 8hr and 12hr shifts (im a nurse).  As i type, im sitting here thinking when am i going to go on leave, the bad thing is i just started this job in december so i dont really have any PTO time:( so i have to figure out how im going to make it for 12 weeks ughhh.

Kim, Grose, & Sasha- I can't even lift my legs up to put my feet up. Nothing is helping it. I go to a chiropractor there is nothing he can really do about this pain. I don't know if it's my pelvis seperating or the baby has a big head...IDK. I can't take it anymore either Grose. I have no idea if my cervix stops for now at 2-3 and 50 effaced, how I'm going to deal with this for the next 3 wks. I literally want my dh to carry me everywhere. It's awful. Do any of you know if our dr's can do anything? I have never had this pain in the past. This is worse than what i have been complaiining about for the past 3 almost 4 mos! UGH! Thanks for the responses. We have to hang in there but honestly it helps talking to you all!

Hugs,
AP
Blackmetal- Thank you for being such a sweetheart! How is your lil one doing? Do you love being a mom? It's awesome it truly is !!!!!!!!

I am in the same position.   It feels as though my hips need to crack but don't making walking a chore.  I barely move these days and I am just over 35 weeks.  I feel so bad for my dtr. as I can't do anything with her unless it involves sitting or laying down.  Doc suggested I try massage (appointment next Thurs.) and if that doesn't work I am to see a chiropractor. Like GRose said, it's undescribable pain and I too can't do this anymore.

YES YES YES, I can barely even waddle, DF told me I need to just stay home and keep my feet up from now on, I am always in excruciating pain. Even  when I am changing sleeping positions or lifting my legs to cross them my pelvis feels like it is going to break.
I cant even explain the pain that I am in, I cant do this anymore... :(
