Can you please try to give me some info for comfort?

I called birth suite just before (3:10am) and the midwife was so rude and just blew me off and asked why did i wait till 3am in the morning to call? Well because this has been on mind lately and i just can't sleep!

Since about 32 weeks i have had a lot of increased clear, thin discharge with a weird smell and have had to wear a pad so i don't leak through my clothes. I have mentioned this at my appointments and told increased discharge is normal.

I have come back GBS positive and must go to birth suite as soon as my waters break for antibiotics. So i have read up a bit about it. I know you shouldn't believe everything you read but i now i can't stop crying because i don't know if maybe my waters have been trickling for a while or it is just discharge or urine leaking. I'm worried becuase my baby could get an infection and die if they break and i don't have the drugs straight away.

What do you think is happening? Could it be my waters?
I haven't had a gush.
The discharge is something i've never smelt before - sweet and strong, not a really bad smell.
I have to wear a pad because the trickles come and go and the heaviness varies.
Had it on and off from about 32 weeks and in the last week the amount has been more constant.
No itchiness or burning.

Please help! I will try to get into my doctor but i can't until the morning.

Tiger- OMG I too have had no luck with the midwives usually when I go to l and d my dr is gone for the day and they have midwives on call. I swear they don't read my charts and just shrug everything off! I'm done dealing with them! As for a weird odor my dr told me your amniotic fluid has a sweet smell! So if it's a foul odor it could be some type of acid or infection be sure to mention it to your dr again. It's so common to have a ton of cervical mucus especiall at the end! As for gbs I had it with my older two and not with my younger two it's no biggy they administer antibiotics through your iv and if you are having natural with no drugs I believe they give it to you orally double check tho with your dr! I have a ton of discharge and I'm not gbs pos so like I said it's totally normal. This is the time panic mode sets in you are having your first baby and it's a life changing event! You will have a ton of thoughts and fears and happiness running through you all at once! I would req to have a u/s done to measure your water and make sure you are not losing it over time! Don't worry you will be okay! Best wishes to you I'm here if you need to talk!

Hugs,
AP
Ps Hey you could be a mommy this week too!

I am also GBS positive and also have ALOT  of clear runny discharge - I just try to keep track of it -  try to remember that while your baby is attached to you via umblical cord he has all the immunity that you have (even from the strep B) they just worry right before birth because he is no longer attached to you and can get infected that is why they give you the anitbiotics right before birth and not earlier.....try to remain calm - I am on an emotional roller coaster today - I can't stop crying over everything and my husband is making us get rid of our dogs because we fight about them and they baby coming and I am so sad - I can't handle it
