Update on bleeding

This may be long so bear with me. I'm a very detailed person so I like to give all the details. Anyway I called the on-call doctor for the progesterone script, called DH and told him to come home. When he got home his mom called and asked if she could come over to help me with the girls. I said, "I don't know!" though I'm pretty sure it was incoherent and she just said, "I'm coming over" and hung up. She lives 5 blocks away, thank goodness.

So when she got there hubby ran to get the prescription which took 1 1/2 hours. My MIL made me lay on the couch with pillows under my hips and my little girls climbed all over me and we watched Little Orphan Annie. Well my MIL did some cleaning and kept giving me water so I kept having to get up to pee.

I STOPPED bleeding, even before I got the progesterone. The bleeding itself was dark red and pink (NOT bright red). I had no cramps or back pain. And I still don't have anymore bleeding but I'm still being a huge worry-wart. I tried so hard and for so long for our baby to be taken away.

Hubby stayed home today and made me stay in bed. But now I'm up and about and things appear okay. I put on maternity jeans for the first time this morning. I think all will be well but I thought for sure it was over. I went into the furthest room in our house, my laundry room, and shut the door and screamed. I'm about to call my doctor now to see if she wants to see me early or do an ultrasound or something.

Daniella- are you feeling WEIRD taking the progesterone?! I feel really weird and sad and just funky. One of my good online friends is pregnant after 19 months and many fertility treatments. She had a bleeding scare at 6 weeks and her doctor told her the cream is absorbed and works much faster than the pills. I'll see what the results are Friday (from Thursday's blood draw) and request the cream if it's still slow going.

I just want to get out of this funk!!!

What a horrible scare.  I hope you can see a doctor tomorrow and get reassuring news that all is fine.  It's a good sign already that you stopped bleeding.

I am so glad that the bleeding has stopped and that everything is ok. Try and relax as much as you can and take the prometrium.

I'm so sorry that you have had this fright.  It's a really good thing you got that prescription but still go see the Dr. tomorrow and demand an ultrasound.  It might give you relief to see that your little one is doing well.  Rest and relax as much as you can.

I have been prescribed Prometrium from TWW and I am taking it twice now up until week 10-12...so if that is something that your doc wants you to do, do it and don't stop just yeat! It is always better to take it then not!!
Also, If I were you, I would stay in bed for a week (docs always say to stay in bed for a week if you have bleeding), and even though it stopped (THANK GOODNess), still you need to be careful...don't move around too much, REST!!!!
We are here with you!
and yes, go for us ASAP to put your mind at ease!

This is going to sound crazy But i kinda wish i couldve called you last night. My dr. said something so weird.
she said that the cream is more effective than the pill, but that by taking the cream i wouldn't need to have regular blood tests anymore. I've been going in once a week since i found out i was pregnant. But i told her for my own peace of mind i would want to get checked even on the cream. Do you think it was weird that she said that? Like the cream guaranteed me or something. Or is my dr. being lazy and not want me to come in anymore? I hate these number games. It's so exhausting.

I have pills called Prometrium. I have heard that the cream is actually better/more effective.

After doing more reading up on progesterone I have found this information: progesterone is necessary to keep the uterine lining thick. If your uterine lining thins out (progesterone goes down) then you will eventually miscarry.

So it's good that we're on it!

I can't believe how much response you've gotten from everyone. Yuo're very blessed to have so much support. I'm so happy you're ok. I knew you would be. Get in for an ultrasound so you can see you baby is just fine.
What progesterone suppliment did you get on? I just got on one last night. It's call Crinone. It's a vaginal cream. just curious what you got?
