Hypno-birthing

well, I'm ready... I've read the books, listened to the CD and taken the hypnosis birthing class... I've even arranged to have a hypno-birthing specialist doula present at the birth to "put me under" and help me with pain managment through suggestion and relaxation/breathing techniques that I've been practicing.

Gosh I hope this all works and I don't end up begging for an epidural!

I'm psyched about having this amazing experience... I juts hope that my fears and upbringing doesn't make me doubt my ability to birth this baby naturally once the "contractions" start...

anyone else doing hypno-birthing?

I've heard of it but I haven't done my research, I want to have a natural birth an prepare myself mentally for it but I really don't want a doula.  I too want to loose my birth fears that have been taught to me by my mother and grandmother but I think that I'm stubborn enough to try to do it my way to prove them wrong is what will keep me from being fearful.
I am going to take a childbirth class and I want to read some books on the bradley method, is there a book that you recommend?

I've never heard of it! It's good that you're so educated on it, because it will make it a lot easier on you, but don't be discouraged if you can't do it naturally for whatever reason. It will be an amazing experience no matter what way he comes. Good luck! I hope it works out for you! I'm also trying natural, but I'm not afraid to ask for medicine if I need it haha!
