How big are your babies?

Last week my bub was measuring at 6 pounds 8 ounces, but this week is now measuring at 8 pounds 1 ounce! I am 37w1d (today) if you ask them, and 37w4d by my calculations (I ovulate early)...

That means that if bub grows as much this week as it did last week, then next week (Thurs 15th) at my planned induction bub would be 9 pounds 5 ounces and I'm not even due until either the 25th or 28th!!

The only trouble now is that I had an internal today to check and see if bub will be ready next week for the induction and I haven't dilated, my cervix is high and hard, and bub's head isn't properly engaged.. So doc is going to check again on Wed to see if anything is better or more ripe otherwise we won't be inducing. (I don't want a c-section)

I can't believe how big the baby is already! I have given birth to an 8p 9oz boy 2 weeks early, a 9 pound girl 5 days early, and an 8 pound 7oz girl 2w1d early.

Is anyone else's baby getting really big?

Are you worried about what that means for the delivery?

Mine's getting huge and yes I'm TERRIFIED...I tore like crazy with a 7lb6oz-er who came on her own and because I have to be induced with this one (any day now, seriously, LOL) it's not gonna be fun...although I'm 2cm and about 80% effaced, so it's not all bad..

he was measuring 9lbs flat at 37wks...and I know they're usually a little off, so I'm guessing that at 38w5d he's probably closer to 9/ 9 1/2 lbs NOW....which is scary enough because the soonest I'll be induced will be monday, so... 9 1/2-10lbs? :-/....all of my uncles were HUGE boys (10-11lbs) so I kind of knew I was in for trouble with this one when I found out he was a boy.

But yeah I'm getting really anxious about it. my cardiologist has also been pushing my OBs to move on setting the induction because the pressure he's putting on my heart keeps causing me to pass out and he's definitely NOT getting any smaller...and he's already dropped and almost completely engaged so it's unlikely that he's got any room to move.

I do have to say that it's so funny that you say "if you ask them" because I have the same problem. THeir little spinny dial thing estimates due dates for a 28-day cycle...well, my cycle is NEVER longer than 24 days, so my ovulation is 4 days earlier than they're saying which means that my due date is also 4 days sooner than they're saying. I SHOULD be 39wks tomorrow or saturday, but they don't have me reaching it until monday...and because of the law regarding amnios to determine lung maturity (which came back borderline at 37wks and the MFM said would be mature by now...duh) they're covering their butts legally and setting it for my 39-wk mark...which also happens to be my birthday. SIgh, Happy birthday to me? Induction? LOL

Anyway...to answer your question, yes, I'm getting nervous about what his size means for delivery.

Baby Addison measured 6.8 at ultrasound 2 weeks before delivery, but was only 6.1 at delivery! So hopefully your ultrasound is measuring big  :)
