If you're on Prometrium...

Does anyone know if you're taking Prometrium, and you are miscarrying, can the prometrium prevent any sign of the m/c ? i.e. can it prevent spotting/bleeding/cramping , or will the m/c go through anyway.?

thanks

I have been on prometrium every pregnancy (this one included) except my first one.  I miscarried 4 times while taking it, and had the bleeding as expected.  It won't stop symptoms, I know that from personal experience.  Good luck to you!!

I have been on prometrium as my pregnancies have been achieved through FET. My last 2 cycles I miscarried. First one was a missed miscarriage and there was no symptoms and was 12 weeks, the second one was early (6 weeks) and I had cramping but no bleeding. Even went and had another beta which was 0 and didn't bleed till I shopped the prometrium. I guess it depends on the dose you are on. I take 200mg 3x a day, vaginal suppositories. Even with my fresh ivf that didn't work I didn't get af till I stopped the prometrium. I hope that helps!

I'm on prometrium and my doctor said that if I was going to miscarry it would not stop it from happening that it would just happen on it's own.  So, from what my doctor said yes you will still miscarry even if you are taking the prometrium it doesn't stop it from happening.  It will not prevent spotting bleeding or cramping.  I have been spotting since the 22nd and been on prometrium since the 28th.  So you will still bleed on prometrium.  Is this sound clear?  I'm listening (haha) to my husband while I'm typing!
