Ya my mother in laws daughter used to work for the hospital in L and D where I will be delivering so I can bounce things off of her. But had I known they were not going to go over anything really I wouldnt have gone. Although my husband said he is much more nervous now lol.
Lol yeah I was 17/18 years old when I was pregnant with my first and I pretty much went in to have him not knowing what to expect exept pain!! Lol we never took any classes childbirth breastfeeding ect. So this time I know what to expect and I will not pay someone to tell me anything but my obgyn and her nurses!!! Ive always thought it was a waste of money! Plus my moms friend is a rn for my pediatrition!! So if I ever had any questions with my son I asked her
LOL No kidding. Yes its very frustrating and I know now not to go thru it again with any future pregnancies.. My husband learned a lot apparently but I also have seen my friend give birth as well as my sisters go thru labor and c sections so I felt like I knew more already. Oh well. Guess it was good for him to be aware and the most important thing he learned was it can take hours.. I guess he thought it was go in push out a baby and its over with... He didnt realize that it was as long and drawn out as it was and when we came out he said ok I am telling my parents they cannot come in the room while you are in labor lol! So that was a huge relief because I really didnt want them in there at all!!! Not even during early stages of labor lol.
I never understood the point of childbirth and parenting classes. They are recommended, but I really do not think they are worth the money. Its easy enough to know how to breathe, and the doctors and nurses you will be with will help you through labor as it is. I think we're better off trusting our doctors and keeping that money for things that will be more necessary like diapers because lord knows a baby goes through them like crazy!
