scare this morning...

I was double checking with my sister this am about babysitting and she said well ummm dont freak out! (dont ever tell a pregnant woman that or any woman that for that matter) but she said son #2 woke up with spots all over but he had the chickenpox vaccine when he was little... I too had chickenpox when I was little but only had about 10 where my sisters each had around 200... I talked to my mom and she said I had a fever when I had them so that I shouldnt get them again and I was around nephew #1 when he was a baby and had them... So I am a little nervous that I could still get them and pass on the virus to my little girl grown inside! Praying that he doesnt have them but scared if he does what to do because I babysat him yesterday (he didnt have spots yesterday though)... Anyone else gone thru this while pregnant???

Well dr didnt want to rule out chickenpox but said it doesnt look like chickenpox but that maybe its more of a cold that he has but rather than having cold symptoms he is having a skin irritation instead and thats how his cold is reacting... Something like that. As for me though I should be fine and if he starts to have cold symptoms or a fever to not be around him.

I guess the part I am a liittle concerned about is that I only had a few.. Although have been around others that had it and didnt get it again. Hoping thats the case here

It is scary. My last pregnancy I worked with a lady that got the chicken pox bad. I was exposed to her but learned that it'll do nothing to your baby if you yourself are immune. If you haven't had it before and turn up getting it and you're pregnant- that's a different story!

I wouldn't worry about it. If you had it when you were little then you should still be immune. The pox are contagious even before the spots show up so you should be fine.
