Weight gain

I know everyone is different but how much weight have you gained in your first trimester? I'm nearly 9 weeks and I've gained 3.5kgs. The app says this is excessive.

With my first, I gained about TEN pounds in the first trimester, which was highly excessive. I topped out at thirty pound total weight gain. Of course, my son was a month early, so who knows what the REAL total would have been. Ha ha!

Just to add to the conversation - when I was pregnant with my first child at age 17, I was stricken so badly with morning sickness through my 5th month, that I lost 23 pounds.  Yes, I am speaking the truth.  However, when I finally got over morning sickness, I overate tremendously and gained from a starting weight of 123 pounds to 191 on the day I went into labor.  I delivered an 8 pd. 7 oz, 22 1/2 inch, baby boy born at 42 3/4 weeks.  Since I was so overdue (the doctor's weren't too concerned about women being so overdue in those days, like they are now) the doctor told me that my placenta was very stiff and was not adequately feeding the baby.  He told me that my son probably had lost weight in the womb a week or so before the actual birth.  I would guess that he would have been a 9 pounder, if I had delivered on time.

I certainly don't recommend that to any women.  The huge weight gain caused me alot of health problems.  With my second pregnancy, I had learned my lesson from the first pregnancy (although I didn't experience any morning sickness with baby #2 - a girl) I only gained 1 pound in my first trimester and only 23 pounds throughout the rest of the pregnancy.  I gave birth to a 7 pd. 10 1/2 oz. 21 3/4" long, baby girl.

Alot of women only gain about a pound or so, in their first trimester, but I think about 5-6 pds., is about average.  I believe all of you sound about normal, to me.  By the way, congratulations to all of you on your precious pregnancy's.  God bless you all.

Sorry for the long post...

I'm 10 weeks with twins and have not gained anything. I didn't gain with first pregnancy til 24 weeks because I was losing bad weight while gaining baby weight so it stayed leveled out. Pretty sure that's what is happening right now, too.
