I woke up Sunday morning about 2:30 with contractions. At about 3 I got up to go to the bathroom where I lost my mucus plug. I went back to bed and while I layed there, I looked up the stages of labor. Contractions were pretty strong and about 8 minutes apart. Since we had a 2 hour drive to the birthing center, we decided to leave at about 3:30. We got about halfway there and contractions had slowed way down. We decided to keep going anyway. Once we got there, I had one good contraction and they stopped!! I decided to get checked to see how far I was. I was dilated to a 3 and very little effaced. Around 8 we decided to take our other 2 kids to a nearby park. I walked around the park with my aunt while my husband played with the kids. I did some squats, stairs and lots of walking! I had a couple bouts of good contractions so around 11 we headed back to the birth center. I got checked again and had effacedto about 40% and had dilated to a 3 1/2. At that point we were deciding if we wanted to break my water, wait it out, or head back home. We decided to wait it out and I walked for a couple minutes along the curb with one foot on and one foot off to try and get her to settle lower. Once I got back inside, contractions picked right up at 2-3 minutes apart and were hard! after about 50 minutes of those I decided to get in the bath. I was there for about another 40 minutes and she was born!! My water didn't end up breaking until my very last pushing contraction. She arrived as my third water birth at 1:12pm! She was 6lbs 10oz and 19 inches long. She was born at exactly 41 weeks. Going from 3 1/2cm to having her born in an hour and a half was extremely intense, but she was so well worth every second and every ounce of pain!
