You should see a dietician as they will recommend a plan specifically for you. For me eating 30 g of carbohydrates 6 times a day is better than the 45g 15g 45g 15g 45g 15g that they prescribed because it keeps my levels more even. It's really important to have protein and fibre with your carbs. For me, I cannot eat potatoes or carrots at all. Obviously any white bread. Probiotic bread works the best. For breakfast I usually have a whole wheat English muffin or tortilla with peanut butter, and half a banana if in the tortilla. Snack I usually have milk with protein powder. Lunch salad with toast or crackers. Dinner stir fry or pasta. Just find what works for you, and watch the amounts of carbohydrates. Once you get used to it it's really not that bad. This is my second pregnancy with GD. Timing is important too...for me I do breakfast 7:30, snack 10, lunch 12:30, snack 3, dinner 7, snack 10:30. This works with my kids and work schedule. I found certain energy bars and shakes that work when I'm really short on time that I can have in an emergency. Also, exercise after a meal will help regulate your levels. Good luck!

A tip... Don't eat fruit in the mornings because makes sugar go sky high... For me and mg dietician said same. Cereals are a big no for me at least.. Tried lactose milk different milks healthy cereals and small tiny half cup portions and still haven't found what works for me...

Also what helps is I eat a lot of progresso soups. Just chicken noodle and light (less sodium) seems to keep me at good standings with a lot of lemon oh and I just drink water. Recently I tried the soup added cauliflower to it and a little bit of trechas(or whatever u want to add some flavor )  it tasted awesome!

Fun right?!?! I was diagnosed about 6/7 weeks ago,  i'm 32 weeks today. I'm diet controlled to this point, down from checking sugar 4 times a day to 2 because i've been controlled. I do oatmeal/eggs with veggies and toast/ or toast with pb for breakfast. I do a sandwich\leftovers from dinner\ or black bean burger for lunch. I take advantage of hubbies love for grilling and the nice weather. We grill almost every night... chicken/steak/hamburger/or brats. Sides grilled zucchini, mushrooms, peppers, and red potatoes. If you don't have a bun a half cup of potatoe is fine (at least for me) with a bun i don't do the potato. 30-60g carbs for meal. 15-30 for a snack. I have a snack between each meals and before bed. For snacks i do cottage cheese with a few berries/cheese stick and a cutie/ or 1 pc of bread 9g with pb, at night i do sf pudding with either cool whip or strawberries.  (my splurge but only 15carbs). I had gained 26 lbs by week 26, more than total my first pregnancy weight gain, 6-7 weeks later i'm actually down 3 lbs. Baby measuring right on target. Gets a little boring, have cravings here and there but whatever I have to do for my lil man, I will. Good luck Gd mamas. Here's to healthy babies!

I Had GD with my first... i would recommend speaking with a diatician if you can. They will explain why some foods create higher sugar levels and how to find the right balance of proteins and fiber and carbs fats ect...

I literally ate the same thing for 3 months straight lol. I found what worked for me and just ran with it
toast with peanut butter and banana for breakfast
chicken with small pasta and veg for lunch
Tons of veg and protein was really important
i had a cheese and fiber 1 cereal before bed.. every day!

It ended up being a blessing in disguise. I didnt gain too much wait and i had more energy after baby was born.

Good Luck!!
