Yep totally an estimate, I was told my second daughter was going to be 9 and half lbs. She was 8 lbs 3oz.

Two weeks before my daughter was born they said she weighed 7lbs 4oz.  She was 6lb 5oz when she was born and I promise you she didn't lose weight.  It's all a guess.  Try not to stress about it.

At 30 weeks my baby was estimated at 4 pounds 2 ounces. My doctor says my baby could weigh as much as 10 pounds at birth! I hope not, I think 8 or 9 is good. :)

Just FYI they can only estimate the baby's weight at this point. These measurements can be off by as much as 1lb! So don't worry so much if they tell you a number that's higher than you like.

I'm 31 weeks + 5 and my baby is 4lbs exactly as of this morning and I was told that was fine. I would say do a quick Google search and see what sites like WebMD might have to say about the matter
