My first baby will be almost 12 yrs old by the time this baby comes so my sister is throwing me one but my gf just had her second (1st baby 2 yrs) and had a baby brunch. Kind of a casual shower
I only had a baby shower for my first. Luckily, 11 years later, when I was preggers with #2, a cousin gave me everything she used for hers. So I didn't really need anything. #3 is coming 3 years later and I do have a few things that I kept, even though I thought I was done. Not really planning a shower, but if people ask if I need anything I will tell them. I guess I did have a few family get me diapers. "Diaper Shower" for #2.
Where I am it's definitely considered tacky to have a shower after your first. My friend threw one for my second because there were so many complications with my first that we were going to have it after she was born, and then she passed away. I didn't even have any baby things because we had been moving house and waiting until she was born. I also didn't have a baby, but still got some rude comments about having a shower for the second. I get the sentiment, though, that people assume you have everything from the first.
This is my 3rd. Nobody threw me a baby shower when I had my first and my second, I had one. Now, on my third, I just moved here a year ago and still dont know that many people (im super shy) so im probably not gonna have one, even though I would LOVE to
I'm on my second baby and I plan on having a babyshower. I think they're great especially depending how far apart they are mine is 6 years old so I have nothing at all for a baby anymore.
