i recently found out I am pregnant... And of course my health insurance doesn't start until Jan 1... My doctor cannot scheduled my first appointment until my insurance is active, so when I have my first prenatal care I will be 12 weeks or more is there anyone else have their first appointment this late?  This is my 2nd pregnancy but it's been 11 years since my first should I be worried thinking of going to the health department or something just for some assurance...

I didn't go to dr with my first till I was 21 weeks but I was seen at health clinic all the gave me was prenatals and iron

My cousin was in the same situation and she didn't go to the doctor until 20 weeks. Her baby was very healthy and she got a good report. As long as you're taking prenatal vitamins and eating healthy you should be more than OK. You can find out a lot of good info like what medicine you can take online until your appointment
