Thank you so much ladies, I appreciate the support. I will practice these techniques and see about light therapy.
I'm bipolar and I've been managing my symptoms for years using behavioral techniques like breathing exercises and getting my mind to a neutral state. I do that by stating facts if I'm having an anxiety attack from the pregnancy I say things like I'm 23 weeks I'm having a boy his name is Alex.
I've had 3 pregnancies and this is the first time I'm experiencing anxiety this extreme. My doctor calls it antepartum depression and there's not much as far as meds go that we can have. The problem stems from chemical imbalances caused by the fluctuation of hormones and happens to 1 in 10 pregnant women. Psychotherapy and light therapy are said to help as much as the meds. My doctor recommended light therapy and green tea and getting out for walks in the sun.
