false labor vent

I will be 38 weeks tomorrow. Baby #4. Feel so dumb. Thought for sure I was experiencing real labor. Contractions were 3-5 minutes apart for an hour. Called Dr, went to L&D, (driven by boss), then sent home. So bummed. When I laid down the contractions went to 15 minutes apart. So 3cm, 70% effaced, and still waiting. Embarrassed to go to work tomorrow but at least i work with all females and they are pretty understanding.

I'm expecting baby#7 and I've almost left for hospital twice thinking I was in labor only to have it stop when I get up and walk. My husband likes to tease me about it, but it can be really stressful to not know for sure. We also are almost an hour from the hospital and it would be really scary to end up giving birth in the car because we waited too long.

I like the pedicure idea! I told my hubby I'm not going back to the hospital until I see the baby's head, lol! Getting haircut and ice cream tomorrow with my daughters.

I say we all go for a pedicure ladies.  Lol.  Good luck to all.  I have not had false labor.... kind of the opposite because  .  I go for NST tests and they are all ,"you know you are contracting? !?!?"  Excitedly.  If you are not sending me to l&d I am not excited.   Lol.  ;)  Thinking of you all!!!!  ♡☆♡☆♡☆♡

Not alone by far. I am 38 weeks and on baby #3. Had contractions 2 to 3 minutes apart lasting almost a minute. They were so painful I literally lost a contact from crying. Got to the hospital and about an hour later they weren't as strong. And to top it off I'm still high and not dilating! I told the nurses that I just wasn't going to know what to think to go in when the time comes.

You are not alone..I'm also on my fourth pregnancy and I'd never experienced false labor with any of my pregnancies until this one.I'm39wks tomorrow . last week on Wednesday the contractions woke me up around 530am and they were like5 min apart, when I got up at7 they were still going on.but after a while i noticed they were becoming more distant.and yesterday samething happened woke up at five with contractions and this time they came like3 min apart. Got up around7 again and took a shower...contractions stopped but I was still hurting,it was more like a non stop cramp like when on your period....after a while it stopped:(  I also feel so dumb...tricked me twice already!!

I did the same thing last week at 38weeks even. Contractions were consistent at 6-7 minutes apart and lasting 35-40 seconds. I called my midwife because I was unsure and I have to leave as soon as I know I'm in labor (2 hour drive + fast labors = I don't want a freeway baby!). She seemed uncertain so I did a few things and eventually took a short nap. By the time I woke up they had gone away :( I was pretty bummed and still pregnant more than a week later!

I hope so. Thank you for responding. I find comfort in knowing I'm not alone. Feel like the little boy that cried wolf. I want to be able to trust my body, but now I'm just unsure.

Ah I'm on baby number 3 and I'm going through that since last Monday....I ws a finger tip from ringing hospital and packing car. They just keep stopping....ended up in tears last night thinking I'm wasting everyone's time. My poor partner doesn't know what to be doing. I feel like a thick cause I've done it twice before. I've never had a false Labour on my other 2 and carried all boys so know what to expect in a sense. Maybe we are close and they are just moving down to make the big day a little easier on us xxx
