My glocuse test came back abnormal, now i have to see a nutritionist and check my blood levels. I'm scared that something may be wrong with my baby girl. Is anyone going thru something similar?

I do these tests daily for patients and I recommend fasting 8-10 before testing. I think it definitely makes a difference. I get to take mine in 2 weeks. And im not looking forward to it.

I have my test april 20th. This is #4 pregnancy. With kiddo #3 i didn't fast, failed, and had to take the 3 hour test. I double checked with dr for this one. I do have to fast and nurse recommended avoiding sweets for 5 days prior to test as well so that's what I'll be doing. My mom had gestational diabetes when she was pregnant with my brothers (twins), and they were healthy. She had to give herself shots. After birth, back to normal.

Well I ate on the morning I was supposed to get the test even my dr said it was okay to eat just nothing with lots of sugar and I failed the test and I'm about 99% sure I don't have diabetes so I wouldn't eat if I were you

Nothing is wrong with the baby when you get gd. If your sugars are uncontrolled and high then it becomes problematic but taking care of yourself and diet n yes pairing foods and all that its fine.

I learned yesterday that if you have gd, there is more to it than just staying away from sugar. You have to learn to pair foods that release sugars quickly with foods that release it slowly to keep your levels more steady. I'm not getting tested for it, which is why my midwife wants to go over the information with me. I'm supposed to track my diet for a week and take it in at my next appointment and that is when she'll go more in depth with me.

My doctor said I can eat, but stay away from things with sugar. Idk what I'll have yet though.
