Well once your past 20 weeks, a loss is no longer called a miscarriage. A loss is called a stillbirth. If you are losing the baby sometimes the symptoms are labor symptoms. However, sometimes the baby's heart could just stop beating with no obvious symptoms at all. Dopplers can help but they can also cause unnecessary worry when you can't find the heartbeat because baby is resting in a weird position. Learn your baby's movement patterns as you start being able to feel your baby. Always trust your instincts and get medical help if you feel you need it. But most importantly try to enjoy your pregnancy every day and not worry. I know personally that's hard as I loss my daughter at 21 weeks. But enjoy each day. Wishing you all the best
Im a ftm too and got myself a fetal doppler so i can hear babys heartbeat at home (i have the angel sounds one) its fab for a bit of reassurance :) i found myself worrying at about 16wks cause i suddenly had no symptoms and it really helps to put my mind at ease...and is lovely just to sit and listen when ive had a rubbish day.
