Sciatic pain can last up to several weeks. There is no sure way to get rid of it.

I know how frustrating it is because there is no position in which is better than another. Remember your Sciatic nerve is the longest nerve in your body.

Assuming that you only have it on one side of the body (Which most women do.) I'd suggest sleeping on the opposite side. There is really nothing you can do other than TRY, and make your self more comfortable until it decides to subside on it's own.

I apologize. I feel your pain. Literally.

Good luck. :)

There is a condition called Sciatica, which usually arises in late pregnancy and is primarily due to the uterus pressing on the sciatic nerve,or the postural changes associated with pregnancy.

I had alot of lower back pain which started in early Jan. I have a twisted pelvis and the pregnancy made my back pain come back (I had chiro treatment for my back about 4 years ago which really helped), where I also had pain from walking. My midwife sent me to a chirotherapist and now my pain is gone!!! Perhaps a chirotherapist is not such a bad idea. It greatly reduced my pain and I hope it prevents me from have a c-section and a long birth.
