pelvic and side pains

I am six-seven weeks pregnant, have ssen and heard the babies heartbeat already......my question though is that I have been having the normal morning sickness.....but I get really strong pelvic and side pains frequently too.....is this normal?  Are others experiencing this?  I go in for another vaginal ultrasound in two weeks, but wonder if i should consult the doctor before then for the pain......
My morning sickness has really been all day gagging and acid more than vomitting, but when i get sick I pretty much just stay sitting next to toilet for hours.....docotr said this could be normal for some people.....any suggestions?

Hello -

You may just be experiencing what is called "Round Ligament" pain.  The round ligaments help to support the uterus.  When the uterus gets bigger, it stretches the round ligaments - thus many women would feel pain on the sides due to this.  You may want to research "Round Ligament" on the internet.

Also, I recently read that women who have morning sickness during their first trimester have a lower chance of having a miscarriage.

Hope this makes you feel better every time you are by the toilet :)

Good luck to you.

I had bad cramping as well, i am just moving into my 8th week and it seems to be subsiding a bit. I asked my doc and she said it was likely from a cyst from where you conceived, left or right side. I too am having all day sickness, i got some candied ginger from Trader Joes, it helps a little

I don't think you should worry, I have been having some cramping with this pregnancy and also with my last pregnancy.  I would talk to your doctor at your next appointment to help ease some of your worries.
