Cramps in Calf

I've been having the worst cramps in my left calf for the past 2 days :-( I've been eating bananas (long distance runners eat for potassium for muscle cramps) & drinking water water all day, still nothing has helped :-(

Any suggestions?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I broke down the other day & called the hospital & they recommended magnesium 250mg supplement as well & I haven't had a problem since :-) I asked about a potassium supplement, so I didn't have all the sugar in the bananas, but they warned that potassium supplement may not be good for my heart right now (yikes). I'm 36 weeks today & will continue to stretch, walk, stay hydrated, & keep magnesium nearby. I can't wait to meet my little man :-)

I heard the calcium thing too from my doctor. He said to keep a small gatorade by my bed and drink it if it happens again...haven't gotten to try it (thankfully).

Ive been told a glass of milk before bed helps so ive been doing that and i havent had hardly any cramps. Its something.to do with baby taking.to much calcium.

You might also consider eating more magnesium-rich foods, such as whole grains, beans, dried fruits, nuts and seeds. Walking and then elevating your legs might help keep the leg cramp from returning.

I know what you mean. Hit me today while in bed. I do the same, a banana a day, and tonsf water. The secret is to stretched them daily. Toes inward towards your head. Or stand on your toes on the bottom stair and stretch them the same way. Good luck, almost there, I'm 35 weeks, can't wait. :- )
