I've been told that palmers does not work, but I have been told to just drink lots of water and stay hydrated. I use a moisturizing body wash, queen helene cocoa butter, bio oil, and Nivea shower oils. I've always had stretch marks on my thighs and breasts from growth, but with exerise and weight lose they become less noticeable.
So my s-i-l bought the Vitamin E liquid capsules that you would take orally as vitamins. she popped them open with a pin and used the liquid oils inside to massage on her scar.
I checked out Palmers. They made a coco butter and a stretch mark lotion. It's basically the same ingredients but the stretch mark one also contains Vitamin E, and shea butter. It's smaller in size and costs more so I didn't buy it. Palmers also makes a repair cream or oil. I've seen it on TV but not in stores. It's more concentrated and highlights effectiveness on stretch marks, scars, dry skin, etc.
Personally...I'm 23 wks with my first baby. Since that blue + showed up I've been using St Ives Vitamin E twice a day. Now that my bump is more prominent, I bought 100% pure shea butter from Bath and Body Works (a small jar under the True Blue Spa line for $15 I think) and Shea Cream+Almond Oil lotion also from the True Blue Spa Line - smells yummy! So I alternate mornings with either Vit E or the Shea/Almond. Every night I've been using the 100% pure shea butter. I don't have a single stretch mark on my stomach. I do have some light ones on my breasts but for some reason I'm not bothered by them.
GL!
When you says she mind the pills with oil what kind of oil?
Thanks!!! I will have to check those out! I use walmart brand coco butter lotion and soak my skin 2-3 times a day in it. I was told to allso try st palmers stretch mark lotion
They won't go away but I had some significant stretch marks during puberty and they are virtually invisible after using Vitamin E lotion for years. (I use Saint Ives). Also my sil has also bought vitamin E capsules and broken them open and used the oil on thyroid-surgery scars. Let's just say until she said that I never knew she had surgery!
Hope that helps! They're cheaper options than BioOil and Mederma....
Also I am 5'4 and already 179 lbs.
