a girl I know and I are only a few days apart in pregnancy. She's starting to show and started getting flutters. I've lost weight since I fount out and getting no feeling at all. It's starting to get me down :(

My best friend and I are pregnant together. I'm 12 weeks and not showing at all and she's 14 weeks and huge, but it's her second pregnancy and you usually show a lot sooner the second time. Is it her second pregnancy?

Don't worry and certainly don't get yourself down. It is so hard not to compare yourself with other people at similar stages but each pregnancy and baby is different. I learned very quickly with my first that each baby will hit milestones at their own pace when they are ready, it's the same with pregnancy. I don't get any flutters yet but I'm not expecting to as I didn't feel any until closer to 20 weeks with my first.

You usually don't feel the baby move until 16-20 weeks so don't worry.

so sorry to hear you're having a bad patch. No pregnancy is the same, so don't try to compare the stages. Your body knows what to do, so trust it to do its jobs in getting your baby ready. If you are worried, do get in touch with your midwife to discuss your concerns and make sure that you are on track with your hospital visits and check ups. Best of luck and hope you feel better soon.
