Help!!!

My baby will be 6 weeks old on Saturday. Her sleeping & nap times used to be easy. The last couple of days though she hasnt slept much. She'll sleep if either my husband or myself hold her but starts crying when we put her down. We've tried her bed, our bed, her swing  & rocker but nothing works. My oldest daughter wasnt this way so i am losing my marbles & dont know what to do.

Don't let her go all the way to sleep in your arms when she starts nodding off put her down if she continues to fuss feed her she might be going through a growth spurt and need the extra nutrients

My 3wk old baby is turning day into night and with 3 other children (one a toddler) I can't catch up on sleep during the day, I feel your pain. As a mum of 4 I can honestly say that there are no 2 babies the same. The first response is possibly the best, keep trying, yes you will have to keep lifting her for a while, but eventually she will learn to self soothe. Have you tried pacing with her in her pram? It's not ideal, but it's not your arms and you can gradually reduce the motion. Good luck, it WILL get better (I keep having to remind myself of that!)

So far today she hasnt cried too much. I've noticed that motion helps to put her to sleep. I just don't want her to get used to it to where thats the only way she can fall asleep. I just feel awful because the constant crying & holding keeps me from doing anything or spending time with my other daughter.
