I'm desperate

Alrighty moms. I'm due tomorrow and a few people have told me to try castor oil.. Have any of you tried it and what's the pros and cons?

I'm also contemplating but was advised against it as it apparently puts you in so much pain, that you don't want to have to deal with it in addition to all the labor-related pain. But I'm very tempted as nothing is happening and I was due yesterday!!

That's the only thing I didn't try bc I heard about the bad side effects it can give you and then no real labor starts.. but the real reason I didn't try it is bc it can put the baby in distress and that really scares me...

I tried castor oil at 39 weeks and 40 weeks i am now 41 weeks. Though it didnt send me into labor it did give me contractions. I wasnt dilated or effaced at all before the first time i took it and after i was 1 cm dilated and between 25 and 50 effaced. I had contraction a few hours then stoped. The second time i took it i had contractions for 12 hours every 10 min but still nothing. I never had the poops or got sick. I just had a sweep done yesterday and lost a huge part of my mucus plug today so who knows maybe the combination of the past 2 weeks will send me into labor lol. Oh and i read the best way to take it is 1 tbl spoon then wait a few hours and do another tbl spoon so thats what i did. Good luck

I don't believe anything works and baby will just come when ready I was late, I tried everything but nothing and Tuesday night my waters broke while I was in bed watching TV.....just be patient it's so worth the wait!

I've heard it work for some.  And others it made really sick and didn't work.  Today is my due date and I really wish I'd go into labor but I'm not willing to try that
