My waters have broke!!!

So my waters broke at 9.30....called hospital and they told me to go in to be checked and all they did was check my baby's heart beat and my blood pressure and then sent me home saying I need to go back in tomorrow night at 8.30 to be induced? I'm so confused.....why didn't they check see if I'm dilated? I'm having contractions ...I just got told to bounce on my yoga ball then rest :s

If you call ask them why they aren't concerned about infection.  I was gbs negative but they were still concerned.

They tested me to confirm my water breaking even though it gushed out.  If they won't take  you at least check your temperature every hour.  Go in if it increases.

I would not take a bath if your water broke, higher risk of infection.  My water broke but I was only having weak inconsistent contractions.  The doc on call insisted on giving me pitocin right away because she wanted that baby out in 24 hours.  I refused pitocin for 12 hours just to see what my contractions would do.   Ended up giving birth at 32 hours and no issues but they kept me at the hospital the whole time and did minimal cervical checks to keep risk of infection down.

Call Ur dr. & just go back in. Demand to speak to the nurse/dr in charge. But just get urself back to the hospital
ASAP. I can't believe they sent u home with Ur amnio fluids leaking. That is VERY dangerous. Many blessings to U.  Sometimes U have to be pushy. It is Ur babies life that is being put in jeopardy. Please go back ASAP.

I've called them saying my contractions are really strong and they just told me again to bounce on a yoga ball, take paracetamol and have a bath.....so I'm in the bath at the moment taken the pain away a little bit but I explained it was a 40 minute drive and when do I need to go back and she said when the pain becomes unbearable and I need stronger pain relief and at the moment my contractions are still too far apart at 6 minutes

My water broke w my 1st, I went to the hospital, I was only dialated to a 1. They need to be monitoring U & the baby. A lot can go wrong w the baby & U if Ur fluids get too low. No matter what Ur water broke... U are going to have the baby!!! But call Ur dr. Maybe he'll call they hospital and say WTF. By U not being monitored they are putting U & baby at risk.

Call your dr & go back to the hospital. My sister was sent home (her water didn't break but was in labor) once she got home she just felt like something wasn't rt. she went back to the hospital w/in an hr. When she was there last the nurses were about to get off shift (I think they just wanted to leave/go home & didn't want to start her admittance paper work). Anyway the new shift nurse got upset at my sis until she explained what happened. They said my sis shouldn't have been sent home. My sis had the baby w/in an hr. Same thing happened to another friend but they had her sitting in a waiting rm w her husband bcuz she would not leave. Finally her husband went and raised an issue w the head nurse-she too once she checked her couldn't believe she was sitting in a waiting room. My friend had the baby w/in an hr also.

I told them where I was coming from when I first rang them to say my waters had broke so they know roughly how far it is...I will be calling them definitely before I leave don't want to be sent home again....I don't see how they can say I wasn't in labour when I wasn't even checked :s

.... once contractions are regular for at least an hour straight, you go! 5 minutes between or less. they could've kept you since you live so far away. did you tell them that? you'll be fine momma... if you're confused or worried, call them before you leave.

They probably sent you home because you are GBS negative and weren't in active labour yet. The induction is a precaution in case you didn't go into labour on your own. Your water can be broken for 18-24 hours before there's a real risk for bacteria or infection. Do not have sex, do not try to self-check your dilation. Other than that, I'd head back now if you're 40 minutes away.

if contractions are 5 minutes apart for an hour and your water broke you need to go to the hospital!! baby is coming momma!! drink lots of water ... keep your own fluids up. that'll help keep baby comfortable too.
