Stretch mark prevention

Has anyone given thought to - or have experience with - stretch mark creams for prevention? Google is useless as there are so many creams and every site rates different brands as the "best." I'd really like to get something that works. I have a large scar already from a trauma surgery six years ago. Mederma helped reduce the appearance of that scar but I don't know how good it is for prevention? Thoughts?

Unfortunately there is not much you can do and it is suggested that it may be an inherited trait for some. Perhaps just try to keep your skin moisturised as usual? I'm quite sceptical of these expensive products that claim to prevent stretchmarks. Try not to use soaps that dry out your skin and just use a normal moisturiser or baby oil if you have that.

I've been using coconut oil and vitamin e oil. I sure hope it works. I was using bio oil but the smell and price were bothering me...

Thanks everyone for your advice! I may try a combo of the cocoa butter stick and vitamin e. I guess like many things in life, it doesn't require anything fancy or expensive - id always much rather stick to the basics!

Apply baby lotion or vitamin e oil as early as now. Thats what the doctor advised me to do.

Unfortunately I think is genetic and not amount of cream will help, if you get them...you get them. However in Italy all the pregnant mums use almond oil and most of them swear it keeps the stretch marks at bay. Good luck!

I also use the 100% coco buter stick from cvs. I dont rub the stick on my stomach i put the entire stick in to a small container and break it in two pieces and when i want to rub on belly i get one of the pieces and rub it in my hands. the piece gets hot just by rubbing it in my hands and then i rub my hands on my belly and if u need more do it again
