If you have already been experiencing contractions or BH go to L&D so they can monitor you and asked them for an ultrasound. I went on Monday and I am glad I did my baby was in position since 7 months and we just found out that now at 36 + 6 she is now breeched. The Dr told me I am glad you asked for an ultrasound! Never hurts to ask!

My daughter was born with the cord around her neck. It's not a problem unless the cord gets pinched, which rarely ever happens. Babies get their oxygen from the placenta until they are delivered so it being wrapped around their airway for a few seconds is not a big deal. It happens way more than doctors tell you.

Trust your Dr.s....they deal with cords during delivery all the time.....you may not get any more ultra sounds now, but you may get one during actual delivery should heart rate drop etc. Quit freaking yourself out! My cousins are the kind of girls that are so into Jesus they won't get regular healthcare. They each have had 4 babies at home with Doulas in swimming pools/wading pools.....Thousands and thousands of babies are born each day without and with cord complications....trust the skill of your provider

If the cord is around the baby's neck and is actually causing harm you'll feel less movement from the baby and their heart rate will eventually start to slow down which you would hear on the Doppler at your regular appointments. I'd say keep track of baby's kicks everyday and if you notice a change then go get checked out. Otherwise you're just stressing out over nothing. Getting a scan won't do anything to change the fact that the cord is around the neck but if you truly want peace of mind go to a private ultrasound place and pay to have it done. Its most likely cheaper than going to an ER anyways. With my insurance it costs me $200 to go to the ER. And fyi, labor and delivery is still considered the ER. I went straight to labor and delivery after a car accident at 18 weeks and still had to pay the ER fee. You can pay $30-$60 at a private clinic. Good luck!

I think you may be worrying too much about the cord. I thibk it rarely happens and as geekmom says they just unwrap the cord. Dont worry yourself so much its not good. you should be focusing and being happy about baby being here soon!

I'm a big believer in power of attraction. I say you give God thanks for not having any abnormalities this far and pray that your worries have no truth behind them. Best wishes!

But getting an ultrasound is not goin to stop it from happening, not that it even will happen...as geekmom said if cord is around babys neck during delivery they will just unwrap it..it happens but its nothing to go panicking for a scan for now..your only 34 weeks

I think the point everyone is trying to make is that lying about an emergency is wrong, you will be taking care away from people in genuine need. And to be honest what every you did lie about they would monitor your babies heartbeat before they sent you for a scan anyway (if the heartbeat was good then you wouldn't get anyway scan), and I know this as fact as someone that has had genuine emergencies before. So lying wouldn't get you the ultrasound you want and you would have wasted valuable time from already over worked health professionals. Talk to your doctor about your worries anyway and get some actual facts about why it happens and what's done about it. Lying is definitely not the answer.

Um it happens all the time where babies get the cord tied around they that's why I won't to get one I mean I Understand hospitals are for emergency but labor and delivery it completely different I'm 34 weeks so it's not like I'm in the regular emergency room

Once again, it is completely unconscionable to lie to healthcare providers. Emergency rooms are for emergencies. You are not experiencing an emergency. If you want to get an extra ultrasound that is not medically indicated you can go to a private clinic and pay for one out of pocket.
Babies are born all the time with cord wrap. In the unlikely situation this happens to you, what happens is: Once you have delivered the head, the doc will tell you to stop pushing. They will then unwrap the cord. Then you go back to pushing, and finish delivering the baby. Voila. One perfectly healthy baby. Absolutely nothing to panic about.

Very strange, why would think the cord would be near babys head and why would want to lie to get an ultrasound...if your pregnancy is goin ok theres nothing to panic about....maybe go for a private ultrasound if you want to baby

Why don't you just ask for one even if you have to pay out of pocket. I wouldn't  lie about it

Well that's weird. Why would you lie...aren't they going to give you the 35/36 week scan to measure baby's weight and height, position, placenta , amniotic fluid and you can even request tech to show you the baby profile again. I just had mine earlier and baby's perfect.

Personally I wouldn't lie. If you lie about something you could be taking time and care away from a lady who is in genuine need of help. If I was you I would tell our doctor your concerns and they can either ease your mind bu explaining what happens in that situation or may even send you for one.

Not being horrid but if you lie about something just for an ultrasound you might actually jinx it and if you really concerned why dont you just talk to your doctor about it
