If u register for a car seat do u normally get one or is that something that u buy on yer own?

Register for everything that you need. The big items only close friends or family may get you. Or sometimes a few friends may go in as a group gift. That being said most places will give you a discount on items that remain on the registry after your shower. I think Babies R Us and Target gave 15-20% off any items that remained. So put diapers, infant Tylenol, diaper cream, cool most humidifier EVERYTHING so you can get the discount on items you need. People usually get clothes and blankets at showers. Another great website to check out for big expensive items (car seat, stroller etc) is called AlbeeBaby. I bought my car seat & stroller travel system from them at 30% off regular retail.

I say register for everything that you need. Usually your close friends and family will want to get you something big whatever you don't get you can always buy.
